This is Americas pastime that we’re talking about. More than any other sport, kids spend a lot of time with baseball cards and watching games on TV and the players really become “role models”. So the owners and players association need to do something, but it needs to be legal. Given that Mitchell had a Fed in the room when he interviewes people it’s not surprising that most declined – any lawyer would advise this. That doesn’t make them guilty. It seems that he released names too soon and in some cases based solely on hearsay. That isn’t helping the game.
